Nutritional Strategy
Section titled “Nutritional Strategy”Take The Bad Stuff Out, Put The Good Stuff In
Section titled “Take The Bad Stuff Out, Put The Good Stuff In”The first step is to completely remove all processed foods from your diet. This is a cold turkey approach where the tolerance for cheating is zero. What most people don’t realize is that they have formed a physical and psychological addiction to the foods that are destroying them. You may experience a period of withdrawal where you will feel like you “need to eat” certain foods, this is temporary and will pass. This is the result of a habit you have formed, not a nutritional need. Remember: When you crave something that will negatively impact your health, this is just a habit you have formed, one that you will break.
The fewer steps your food takes to get from its source to your table, the more nutritional content is retained and the fewer chances it has to be exposed to harmful preservatives, processing chemicals and bacteria. Keep it local, keep it fresh!
“Bad stuff” also includes alcohol and alcohol products, for 28 days take them out of your diet entirely.
Remove all tempting foods from your house, car and office. Please donate anything that is still sealed.
Eliminate Inflammatory Influences
Section titled “Eliminate Inflammatory Influences”Inflammation is caused by different foods for different people, and is often the result of food sensitivities (mild allergies) and evolutionary protective enzymes in the foods we eat. There are several food groups that are more likely to trigger an inflammatory response than others. The main groups you are going to avoid are grains, dairy, soy and sugars. Remove these from your diet entirely. You may struggle the first few days but you will break through to a whole new level of energy, mental clarity and “feeling good”. Listen to your body. Take note of how you feel, how much energy you have and how regular your bowel movements are; these are all indicators of your gut health. We highly recommend working with a functional medicine practitioner and certified nutritionist if you really want to take this one step further or are struggling with digestive health, there may be underlying deficiencies or dysfunctions that need to be corrected before you can unlock your full potential.
End Your Sugar Addiction
Section titled “End Your Sugar Addiction”Sugar has been camouflaged into food labels with over sixty different names and counting. For our purposes we will use the word sugar to denote anything that can be used as a sweetener. This is the definition we are using when we say NO SUGARS, nothing that is related to or a substitute for sugar.
